Meet our team

Dallas Neighbors for Housing is led by dedicated volunteers who care deeply about improving and increasing housing  in our city. Leads organize meetings, events, and actions to achieve our mission to build a welcoming city where everyone has an affordable place to live that is close to the things they need.

Chapter Leads:

Founders: D'Andrala Alexander &  Adam Lamont

Dallas Neighbors for Housing was started by a husband and wife duo!

D'Andrala (DeDe) Alexander is a Licensed Professional Counselor and executive at mental health startup. She purchased her first home with the assistance of the Dallas Mortgage Assistance Progam (MAP) and Neighborhood Lift Downpayment Assistance Program. Her priorities are: creating more paths to homeownership and a housing first approach to address homelessness. DeDe has stepped back from being a Lead to focus on transportation advocacy as a member of the DART board.

Adam Lamont is a middle school math teacher and coach in DISD where he is also a proud union member of Alliance AFT. He is originally from the Boston area and moved to Dallas in 2017 to work on Colin Allred's Congressional campaign. He was motivated to start the Dallas chapter after witnessing public meetings in the neighborhood near his school. His priorities are: increased housing density, better tenant protections, and making Dallas less car-dependent.

Courtney Hunter

Courtney was born in Dallas and has lived in DFW all her life. She is an architectural designer at a locally owned firm in Dallas. As an architecture student at UTA, studying beautiful cities and the history of domesticity in the US led her to make the decision to move downtown and get rid of her car as an investment in the future walkability of Dallas. Her purpose in life can be traced back to the command to "love your neighbor" which means self-sacrifice for the peace and prosperity of those around you, especially the marginalized. Her priorities are: connected and walkable neighborhoods with adequate housing and transit choice that gives Dallasites of all ages the freedom to live without a car.

Hexel Colorado

Hexel Colorado founded Dallas Urbanists STLC, a Strong Towns Local Conversation focused on improving walkability in Dallas. A lifelong DFW resident and Dallas-native, Hexel is passionate about housing, transportation, and zoning. Car-free since 2022, Hexel advocates with groups like Dallas Neighbors for Housing, Dallas Bicycle Coalition, and Dallas Area Transit Alliance (DATA), and serves as chair of the DART Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).

Andrew Warren

Andrew Warren is a mechanical engineer with a passion for sustainability in the built environment, working to design energy efficient buildings as his day job. Andrew supports housing policy that can make a positive impact for all people in Dallas by increasing housing affordability, improving tenant rights, and enabling sustainable transportation options. Andrew has lived in Dallas for the last 12 years, and you can often find him biking to work on the SoPac trail or grabbing a biscuit at Goodfriend Package on the weekend.
